Big Bertha FT-i from Callaway Golf

Callaway Golf, established in 1982, is one of the better known brands in golf.  Besides creating great golf clubs, they help promote the sport of golf through corporate sponsorship of a number of professional golfers.  Some well-known pro golfers sponsored by Callaway are Phil Mickelson, Michael Campbell and on the ladies tour, Anna Sorenstam.
While Callaway manufactures a full line of golf clubs, probably the most popular has been the “Big Bertha”.  A brand new model, the Big Bertha FT-i Fusion Driver is an innovative design expected to be available in February 2007, and is manufactured using cutting edge technology.

Fusion Technology
This Callaway driver incorporates their “fusion technology” to shift and “fuse” the weight of the driving head to compensate for both vertical and horizontal twist of the club face that occurs during a swing.

There are 3 models of the Big Bertha FT-i Fusion Driver, all with the same club head weight of 44 grams.  The difference in the three models is how the weight is placed in the head of the the driver.

If the golfer normally experiences a fade or a slice, the Big Bertha FT-i draw driver is the model to select. The weight of the draw driver is heavier on the opposite side of the clubface to overcome the fade.

A golfer who hooks or draws their drive should choose the fade model of the Big Bertha FT-i driver.  In a similar manner, the weight in the clubface is shifted towards the opposite side of the experienced hook or draw.

The third model of the Callaway Big Bertha FT-i Fusions Driver is the neutral driver.  The full 44 grams of clubhead weight is distributed fairly evenly in the head of the driver.

In general, the effect of fusion technology in the Big Bertha FT-i Fusion Driver compensates for the swing of a golfer, resulting in a straighter drive.

Other Features
All models of the Big Bertha FT-i Fusion Driver from Callaway Golf have a titanium clubface and an unconventional design that produces a larger clubface area.  These features, along with the fusion technology, increase the golfer’s chance for solid ball contact and greater distance off the tee.

Any of the three models can be ordered with one of three club shaft options and are available in both right-handed and left-handed versions for both men and women.  The three club shaft models available for the Big Bertha FT-i Fusion Driver are the Callaway Golf Fusion NVS shaft, the graphite NV Shaft, and the Graffalloy Pro Launch Blue shaft.

Again, the Callaway Big Bertha FT-i Fusion Driver should be avaiable for delivery in February 2007.
